It was our first Memorial Day weekend in our new home. We went out and bought a new flag. It felt so good to begin our weekend remembering why we celebrate. Many of our family members have served in times of war and peace. My wife's uncle still grieves his brother who never came home.
On Sunday, we had a belated birthday celebration for our oldest two children. And on Monday, we had a good old-fashioned cookout with Mimi. Jacob has been dying to help her plant her garden, so we spent part of our afternoon doing just that. It was a fun and meaningful weekend all around.
